Chapter One Cesar's Way....

Chapter one of Cesar's Way was a lesson on who Cesar is and how he came about being the master at dogs that he is. I didn't know that Cesar was a illegal immigrant but he had to do what he had to do. His childhood is a amazing tale on how people don't really watch there dogs close enough to see the signs of what they are telling us. Also to work hard to get where we want to be, if you want something you have to go after it.
The last few pages of the chapter is where I hope to learn to be a calm controlling dog owner. He states"They simply want to be a dog!" What can all of you learn from that simple sentence? I found that we expect a lot out of our dogs and that sometimes with a specific breed of dog they are so inherently got the breed traits so why work against that trait but with it and curb it to what you want. With Abby she likes to herd things she doesn't know how to actually maintain her instincts but I hope out of this journey we can figure something out for her. For Spencer, well he has a huge keen sense of smell so that will be his mission to work with his nose.
Another great sentence Cesar says in the end of chapter one is, "You may consider yourself the luckiest dog owner in the world,........please, open your mind to the possibility that your dog may be missing some of the things she needs in her life to be happy and fulfilled as a dog."

The next chapter I am going to break down for myself and you readers is all about talking with animals and reading there energy. This will be a huge help for me and hopefully for you readers.

Always think about when you introduce yourself to another animal... No touch, No eye contact, and do Not speak to them. Let the dog check you out first by smelling you!

  1. I'm going to enjoy reading about your journey. Have you considered introducing Abby to sheep? Or ducks, they are a great way to start off if you don't have access to sheep.
